I’m Srilakshmi Nair. I was born and bred in kerala, India. I’m a wife to a wonderful man, and a mother to a sweet little boy. I love cooking and I love to eat. I’ve always had a passion for food, but I’ve only realized that I love the art of cooking a few months before I got married, and made the popular classic Indian dish- murgh makhani /butter chicken. I realized that food is not just a fuel. Its something that has to be enjoyed, or savored. Its an experience. To me, food has to be fresh, simple, all natural, and no frills. Food that tastes good doesn’t need to be dressed up in frills and finery. Its when you take that first bite, and you relish the food, it makes you happy, it takes you to some other world, and you look forward to taking another bite. Its about that first bite, the quality of the food, but its also about the memories, the location, the mood and the people you were with when you ate it. But the most satisfying part of cooking is when you feed someone till their heart’s content. Just feed people till they want no more!

I want to share my feelings toward food with all the food lovers out there. That is why I made this blog. It is my very humble attempt at sharing everything I love and learned about food. I have a collection of tried and tested recipes, which are either from my mother-in-law, mother, or me. I love and respect both of those women. They are really great cooks, and even though they do the family laundry, ironing, cleaning of the house etc., everyday in some mysterious way three or four delicious meals come into existence on the dining table…I really don’t know how they do it…

The recipes in my blog are developed, and tried in my kitchen and perfected to my taste. Please use your discretion when adding or taking away ingredients, and please use a conversion tool to convert the measurements I have given. I take my recipes very seriously, but your taste may or may not be different from mine. If you like them, try them out, and let me know how it turned out. I believe in giving credit where credit is due, so if you want to post my recipes in your blog, please link the post back to me. I want everyone who visits my blog to feel comfortable, a place to relax, and talk about food. Tell me about your recipes. I would love to hear from you. I hope you’ll like my humble space, and thank you for allowing me to share!
